Save Time by Automatically Posting Insurance Payments

Over the past few years, the healthcare industry has implemented a standard for electronic insurance payment and reconciliation. This standard goes by the technical label ANSI 835, but is commonly referred to as electronic remittance technology. An Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) is an electronic report in a standard, computer-readable format sent by insurance companies to providers as an explanation of payment and adjudication of medical claims. ERAs expedite the delivery of insurance payments and simplify the reconciliation of payment accounts.

On November 8, ICANotes released an update allowing providers to load, review, and automatically post remittances to Patient Accounts. To take advantage of this new feature, your claims must be submitted in ANSI 837 format. If you are already working with one of our clearinghouse partners, we can convert you to 837 format on request. This will allow you to begin receiving your remittances electronically so that you can review and post payments automatically to each patient’s account.
