Countdown to ICD-10

The ICD-9 code sets used to report medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures will be replaced by ICD-10 code sets on October 1, 2015.

Transitioning to ICD-10 is required for everyone covered by HIPAA. This change not only affects those who submit Medicare or Medicaid claims, it also affects diagnosis coding for both inpatient and outpatient procedures. However, this change does not affect procedural (CPT and HCPCS) coding. Are you ready?
